To fail. The term
bomb usually refers to a
program hanging or ending prematurely. Note that bombing is usually less serious than
crashing, because bombing refers to a single program, whereas crashing refers to the entire
system. The two terms, however, are not always used consistently.
The Apple Macintosh computer actually has a bomb message that sometimes appears just before the system crashes.
